Great cultures are not controlled into existence. They are built through trust.

Who’s Behind the Movement

Hi, I’m Jeff Fredericks. I’m fascinated by a simple question: Why do so many organizations unintentionally destroy the very things they want more of?

Creativity. Motivation. Trust. Ownership. Well-being.

Professionally, I work in organizational and team environments where I’ve seen firsthand the tension between control and human potential. Over time, I became increasingly interested in what happens when leaders attempt to improve outcomes through tighter oversight, more process, and greater predictability . . . and what is often lost along the way.

Control Kills Culture is where I explore those ideas.

This site brings together research, stories, observations, and practical thinking around leadership, autonomy, and creating workplaces people can thrive in . . . not just survive.

My goal is not to attack leadership. It is to ask better questions.

Because I believe great cultures are not controlled into existence.

They are built through trust.
